F5 fire-rated access panel for walls

The F5 provides access to concealed installations in walls, partitions, and plasterboard linings in projects requiring fire resistance. It is available in EI30, EI60, EI90, and EI120 ratings.

Its construction includes an aluminium frame, fire-resistant panel, intumescent seal, and specific locking systems depending on the rating.

For which installations is it suitable?

For electrical, HVAC, plumbing, telecommunications, and technical installations in walls where access for maintenance and fire protection must be combined.

The F5 is a wall-mounted model. For applications in suspended ceilings, the F6 fire-rated ceiling access panel should be used.

What to choose before buying

Fire rating: select EI30, EI60, EI90, or EI120 according to the project specifications and the technical documentation applicable to the installation.
Size: select the access panel dimensions in centimetres and check the installation opening indicated below.

Installation opening size

To install the F5, add 115 mm (11.5 cm) to the width and 115 mm (11.5 cm) to the height of the selected size.

For example, for a 20 × 20 cm access panel, the installation opening must measure 31.5 × 31.5 cm. The additional 115 mm applies to each overall dimension, not to each side.

Description and applications

The F5 access panel is designed to provide easy access to technical installations located behind walls, partitions, and fire-rated plasterboard linings.

Depending on the selected variant, it is available in EI30, EI60, EI90, and EI120 ratings.

Its construction incorporates an aluminium frame, fire-resistant panel, intumescent or expansion joint, concealed pressure latches, and safety elements to retain the door.

The door can be completely removed to leave the access opening clear and facilitate inspection, maintenance, or repair work.

It is recommended for electrical, HVAC, plumbing, telecommunications, ductwork, and technical equipment enclosures in residential buildings, offices, commercial premises, public buildings, and technical spaces.

Important: the F5 system is designed for wall installation. For false ceiling applications, the F6 system should be selected.

Available classifications

Select the variant that matches the project's technical requirements:

• F5 EI30: for wall configurations requiring an EI30 rating, within the dimensions, compositions, and conditions specified in its technical documentation.

• F5 EI60: for wall configurations requiring an EI60 rating, in accordance with the substrate composition and the specific instructions for this variant.

• F5 EI90: for wall configurations requiring an EI90 rating, in accordance with the conditions and limits specified in the applicable documentation.

• F5 EI120: for wall configurations requiring an EI120 rating, in accordance with the corresponding technical documentation.

The fire resistance rating depends on the reference, dimensions, wall composition, and installation, in accordance with the applicable manual and technical data sheet.

Before placing the order, confirm that the selected variant matches the project requirements.

Installation and safety

Install the F5 hatch exclusively in a wall, partition, or backing wall compatible with the selected rating.

The installation must comply with:

• The composition of the wall.

• The number and thickness of the panels.

• The cut-out dimensions.

• The indicated orientation.

• The intended fixings.

• The position and continuity of the joints.

• The retention and safety elements.

• The specific instructions for the selected variant.

Do not replace the panels, joints, fixings, or components with different ones without technical confirmation. Installation in a wall other than the one specified may prevent the assembly from achieving the indicated performance.

Hold the door before releasing it and correctly reconnect the safety elements after each opening.

Do not remove, cut, or damage the intumescent seals. Avoid covering the seals, latches, and moving parts with putty, paint, or debris.

Do not modify the frame, panel, or door. Do not use the door as a load-bearing support.

Periodically check the latches, seals, and safety elements.

Custom dimensions and fabrication

The standard sizes offered by TrampillasPro are:

• 20 × 20 cm.

• 30 × 30 cm.

• 40 × 40 cm.

• 50 × 50 cm.

• 60 × 60 cm.

The availability of each size may vary depending on the selected rating and inventory.
