F3 Access Panel for Tiled Walls

The F3 provides access to concealed installations in walls finished with tiles, ceramics, and similar materials. Its moisture-resistant backing board can be tiled, and its concealed push-to-open closure ensures a discreet, integrated appearance.

What installations is it suitable for?

Access panels for bathroom, kitchen, laundry room, changing room, and other wet area walls in residential and commercial projects.

What to choose before purchasing

Select the tiling system suitable for your installation. The options for this product are:

  • Over frame: 12.5 mm moisture-resistant backing board and 25 mm frame.
  • Recessed tiles: 15 mm moisture-resistant backing board and 25 mm frame.
  • Recessed tiles: 25 mm moisture-resistant backing board and 33 mm frame.

Check that the selected system is compatible with your wall finish and consult the technical documentation before installation. Also select the access panel size and check the installation opening before cutting.

Installation opening size

Add 5 mm to the width and 5 mm to the height of the selected size when preparing the installation opening.

For example, for a 40 × 40 cm access panel, the opening must measure 40.5 × 40.5 cm. The additional 5 mm applies to each overall dimension, not to each side.

Description and applications

The F3 access panel provides access to installations concealed behind tiled interior walls without the need to break the cladding during inspection, repair, or maintenance operations.

It consists of an outer frame and a removable aluminium door. Depending on the selected configuration, it can be supplied with 12.5 mm, 15 mm or 25 mm moisture-resistant plasterboard.

The concealed push-to-open latches allow the access panel to be opened by pressing on the door, without the need for visible handles.

It is recommended for bathrooms, kitchens, laundries, changing rooms and other tiled interior areas with plumbing access points, stopcocks, meters, electrical, heating and ventilation, telecommunications or service shafts.

Important: the F3 is designed exclusively for wall installation and opens downwards.

Available versions and thicknesses

The F3 access panel is available in two configurations:

• Over-frame version: the cladding is placed over the aluminum profile, extending the finish beyond the access panel frame.

• Recessed tile version: the cladding sits inside the panel profile.

It can also be configured for the following board thicknesses:

• 12.5 mm.

• 15 mm.

• 25 mm.

The version and thickness must match the actual wall construction and the intended finish.

Before placing the order, check:

• The actual board thickness.

• The size and thickness of the finish.

• The tile installation method.

• The nominal size.

• The external frame dimensions.

• The required opening for installation.

• The resulting clear opening.

The nominal size, installation opening, and clear opening may differ. Consult the documentation before cutting the wall.

Installation and safety

The F3 must be installed exclusively on a plasterboard wall with the click latches located at the top.

Before cutting, measure the received outer frame, check the selected configuration, and verify that there are no hidden installations in the area.

The installation documentation states to prepare a cutout equivalent to the hatch size plus 5 mm and fix the frame with self-tapping screws spaced no more than 17 cm apart. Always confirm these instructions in the manual corresponding to the selected version before starting.

During opening, gently press the panel in the latch area and control its descent. Hold the door and, when appropriate, disconnect the carabiner following the instructions in the manual.

From 300 × 300 mm, the documentation states that the hatch includes a safety cable and carabiner. Always reconnect the carabiner after each opening.

Each door corresponds to its specific frame and must not be interchanged with that of another hatch.

Do not force the panel, do not use it to support loads, and do not remove or damage the white perimeter seal.

Tiling and custom sizes

Before installing the tiles or cladding:

• Confirm whether the hatch corresponds to the version over the frame or with recessed tiles.

• Check the format, thickness, and weight of the pieces.

• Perform a preliminary layout of the cladding.

• Prevent the adhesive from entering the latches, joints, or moving parts.

• Check that the pieces do not hit the wall when opening.

• Distribute the weight of the cladding evenly.

After installing the cladding, allow the adhesive to dry completely, clean off any residue, and perform several opening and closing tests.

The F3 can also be ordered in special sizes subject to a quote. To assess the manufacturing, we need:

• Width and height.

• Panel thickness: 12.5 mm, 15 mm, or 25 mm.

• Version over the frame or with recessed tiles.

• Approximate format and thickness of the cladding.

• Number of units.

• Any special installation requirements.
